On June 6, 1944, the world asked ordinary men to do extraordinary things. Quite simply, freedom and peace were at stake and thousands of young men answered the Allied call on the beaches of Normandy.  Many still lie there today under a white marble cross or Jewish star. Others came home and quietly went back to their lives as cab drivers, teachers, salesmen and farmers. Less than 1/2 million of the 16 million who fought in Europe and in the Pacific during World War II are still alive. Today they are in their 90s and yet can still remember the details of those days storming Utah beach, dropping from the skys to liberate The Netherlands and surviving the constant shelling in the freezing forests of Bastogne.

One 97-year-old veteran, Tom Rice, of the U.S. 101st Airborne Division paratroopers and a member of the famed “Band of Brothers,” did the jump again on June 5, 2019 — 75 years since his last jump over the beaches of northern France when he was just 24 years old.

Caregiving Club honors the men and women of the military and the military families who have sacrificed from WWII to OEF.   There are no words to appropriately thank you for your service except to never forget your courage and sacrifices so that we may know peace and prosperity.
