Caregiver Wellness & Well Home Design News

1st Day of Spring is March 20 but Daylight Savings is Sunday, March 12 and Sleep Awareness Week of March 12-18 – family caregivers need to ensure their loved ones who are aging in place have their lights adjusted to avoid falls from poor lighting and use amber/orange nightlights instead of blue lights to not disrupt circadian rhythms and sleep health. Sherri explains in the news segment.

Sherri shares the latest in sleep tech for Well Home Design including a jet lag and shift worker app by Timeshifter; a new app; Sleep Space, that gives you a score on your REM/NREM sleep, recommends sleep sounds, gather your heart rate, HRV, oxygenation levels, sound in the bedroom, and micro-motions to find your sleep stages and improve your sleep quality – includes live coaching from sleep science experts; and 8Sleep mattresses and pods – cools your mattress (or buy whole new system) to help you get to sleep faster, stay asleep, improves sleep quality. These mattresses are very popular with pro athletes run a little pricey at $3,000 – mattress; $2,000 – pod cover.

National Dream Day is March 11 – Sherri shares how daydreams actually occupy 1/3 –1/2 of all our waking hours and can benefit our health and wellness through “free-moving” and “elastic thinking.”
