Stress Awareness Month, Companies That Care, Volunteer Week & Garden Month

Sherri Snelling, corporate gerontologist and “Caregiving Club On Air” podcast host interviews on this episode:

Francesca ReDavid, senior director of product growth at Care.com. Francesca shares insights into Care.coms’s recent report, “The Moderan Workplace” as well as her own tips on work-life balance. The discussion is timely for April’s National Stress Awareness Month where more reports are showing employees who are also caregiving suffer higher rates of burnout and emotional health issues.

Caregiver Wellness News

Sherri will be sharing tips on how to find stress release in the office and at home; also information for National Volunteer Week (April 16 – 22) and an article below on ways caregivers can find free respite services, National Sibling Day (April 10) on how many siblings are caring for siblings and some thoughts on April’s National Humor Month and how that relates to caregiver health including an innovative solution for dementia caregivers – Laughter On Call.

Also – we remind our listeners and followers of a great episode from Season 2 for April 30 which is National Pet Therapy Day. Sherri talked to Ted Fischer, founder and CEO of Ageless Innovation on Season 2, Episode 7 about the Joy For All Companion Pets line of robotic pets and the new Walker Squaker to increase mobility among older adults.

Well Home Design News

Turning to Well Home Design, since it is also National Garden Month, Sherri shares two innovations in aging in place design for older loved ones who have a green thumb: Elevated Gardens and Smart Gardens.

Me Time Monday Wellness Hack

As always, we end our episode with our Me Time Monday Wellness Hack. This episode we focus on National Stress Awareness Month and tips on how to banish caregiver burnout. The Me Time Monday Wellness hacks are all part of Sherri’s upcoming book, “Me Time Monday – The Weekly Self-Care Plan to Balance Body, Brain and a Busy Life.”
