WORLD ALZHEIMER’S DAY WITH DR. TINA SADARANGANI OF ENLIGHTENED CAREGIVER AND THE CAREMOBI APP, Latest Alzheimer’s Research Including Copper & Journaling to Reduce Dementia Risk; Dopamine Design and Depression Rooms at Home, Emergency Preparedness Month
In our second September episode, host and gerontologist, Sherri Snelling, focuses on World Alzheimer’s Month as she talks with Dr. Tina Sadarangani, PhD, RN, FAAN,, creator of Enlightened Caregiver on Instagram for dementia caregiving tips and inspiration as well as her innovative new app, CareMobi, for family care coordination. (Interview starts at 26:45)
Dr. Tina is also an Assistant Professor at NYU and a board-certified adult and geriatric nurse practitioner with extensive experience in dementia and caregiving. She is an NIH-funded clinician-scientist overseeing a research portfolio focused on improving care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and their families. She has built a growing movement to help families, especially immigrant families caring for achronically ill person, navigate a complex and fragmented healthcare system.
Sherri and Dr. Tina also talk about the latest Alzheimer’s research and lifestyle prevention results – can we protect ourselves from later life dementia? And they talk about Emma Heming Willis, wife of actor Bruce Willis and her new book on caregiving self-care and some of the backlash she has received on social media as well more great insights on brain health.
