My mother died last July of Alzheimer’s. She had it for many years and when she died she was in the advance stages. She was in her own world and did not know who were were, etc. I am 71 and hope that my children don’t have to deal with this.

      Bonnie:
So sorry for your loss. While we know as we age we have a higher risk for Alzheimer’s – maintaining a healthy BMI, getting exercise and eating nutritiously will help – the same health risks for heart disease (#1 killer) are now also associated with Alzheimer’s so staying healthy should help.
