Stress is a caregiver’s No. 1 enemy and prolonged stress can lead to the caregiving health risk of burn-out. In fact, caregivers are twice as likely as the general public to be diagnosed with a chronic illness due to prolonged stress of caregiving. And in the book, The Telomere Effect, Dr. Elizabeth Blackburn writes that one year of chronic stress can take six years off your life.

August 15 is when we celebrate National Relaxation Day and is a great excuse for caregivers to get the break they need. Finding stress relief is not easy but essential.  Finding ways to find “Me Time” is what Caregiving Club is all about.
